EFCC summons Obanikoro’s security detail over #Fayosegate

OBANIKORO
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has invited the Aide-de-Camp to a former Minister of Defence, Mr. Musiliu Obanikoro to explain his role and that of his boss in the N1.299billion to Akure Airport for Governor Ayodele Fayose.EFCC sources told BLACKFACE that the sum forms part of the resources used in prosecuting Governor Fayose’s electoral victory during the 2014 governorship election in Ekiti State.
Barring any change in plans and procedures, Obanikoro’s ADC, Lt. A.O Adewale of the Nigerian Navy, is expected to appear for interrogation at the EFCC’s headquarters on Wednesday where he is expected to be quizzed by the commission.
The job of the EFCC was made easy by Fayose’s associate, Abiodun Agbele, who was said to have received the funds in question from the ex-Minister.
Video evidence surfaced over the weekend on how the former minister ferried the money on board of a chartered aircraft, with Registration No: HS125-800 5N-BMT belonging to Gyro Air Limited to Akure on June 17 and 18, 2014.
EFCC source told our correspondent that, “We are expecting him on Wednesday; our team of investigators is on standby to interact with the Naval Officer who was the ADC to Obanikoro.
“We took time to invite him because investigation has not reached his own curve. Now, as a star witness to the movement and the modus operandi of the ex-Minister, we need to hear from him. We are interested in his role or otherwise in the movement of the cash to Fayose’s associate.”
It was however gathered that Agbele was already cringing in detention when he saw some damning tellers from Zenith Bank Plc
“Agbele was really shocked and dumbfounded when he saw the heaps of evidence, especially tellers which he personally signed. He was just “cringing” in custody.”
