Marley turned down his doctors' advice to have his toe amputated (which would have hindered his performing career), citing his religious beliefs, and instead the nail and nail bed were removed and a skin graft taken from his thigh to cover the area.[55][56][57] Despite his illness, he continued touring and w

The Internet Is In Danger, Says It's Founder, Here Are Ways To Fix It

Image
Not many of us are familiar with the inventor of the Internet, Sir Tim Berners-Lee. In the letter published by the World Wide Web foundation, Berners-Lee said: It's 28 years since he submitted his original proposal for the World Wide Web and Berners-Lee has penned an open letter naming three issues that need to be addressed to ensure the survival of the internet.  In the letter published by the World Wide Web foundation, Berners-Lee said: I imagined the web as an open platform that would allow everyone, everywhere to share information, access opportunities, and collaborate across geographic and cultural boundaries. In many ways, the web has lived up to this vision, though it has been a recurring battle to keep it open. But over the past 12 months, I’ve become increasingly worried about three new trends, which I believe we must tackle in order for the web to fulfil its true potential as a tool that serves all of humanity. He then addresses three issues:

Since 1976, every U.S. president has officially designated the month of February as Black History Month. Other countries around the world, including Canada and the United Kingdom, also devote a month to celebrating black history. ORIGINS OF BLACK HISTORY MONTH The story of Black History Month begins in 1915, half a century after the Thirteenth Amendment abolished slavery in the United States. That September, the Harvard-trained historian Carter G. Woodson and the prominent minister Jesse E. Moorland founded the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History (ASNLH), an organization dedicated to researching and promoting achievements by black
