Nollywood Actor, Saidi Balogun drags Ex-Wife, Fathia Balogun to court Over Usage of Last Name

Years after their separation, former Nollywood couple Saidi and Fathia Balogun are at war again.
This is not the first time the duo will engage in legal battle, few years ago Saidi Balogun vows to force Fathia to stop using his last name.

"She is my ex. As for my name that she is still answering, the deed will be done soon. The Nigerian law says that after three or four years, you can do something about it. If somebody wants to keep my name, what of the new person coming in? This has nothing to do with grudges." –said Saheed Balogun in an interview

In 2012, his estranged wife Fathia Balogun also said this in an interview:
"I laugh, my name is Fathia Balogun and it's going to remain Balogun; nobody can ever change that and nobody can stop me from answering that name."

As we speak, Nollywood insiders claim the 2012 interview Fathia granted  infuriated her ex-husband.

Court remands man in prison over alleged rape

An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday remanded a suspected rapist, Solomon Adetunji, 30, in prison custody over alleged rape of a nine-year-old girl.

The prosecutor added that he had sent the case file to the Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution for legal advice.
The plea of the accused was not taken due to the nature of the offence.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Simeon Ojo, expressed concern at the increasing incide…

Williams submitted that both accused raped the minor when she went to the residence to collect the money.
“Unknowingly, she went to the house, and as soon as she entered the room, the first accused (Fatunbi), who hid himself in a room, shut the door, and they raped her.

Why I Denied My Child's Paternity - Ice Prince

When news of him fathering a child hit the airwaves, everyone waited for Ice Prince to either accept or deny it. And, he denied it.

Then much more later, we started seeing him posing with his kid, and telling whoever cared to listen that he's actually a daddy.
He recently granted an interview with Showbiz Plus where Ice explains why he had to deny paternity of his son.
According to him, he wasn't sure as at the time the news hit the air and had to make findings to be sure the pregnancy was truly his. Now, he's sure and has accepted his son.
"It was complicated back then, I didn’t really know what was happening and I wasn’t sure of certain things. So the best I had to do then was deny it and sort out things first. Now I know he is my child and I have done everything as a father ever since.
But Ice isn't dating his baby mama, Bimbo Babatunde and we're not sure he'll marry her either.
According to him, although he still communicates with Bi…

Eight people have been confirmed dead and 14 are seriously injured in hospital after a police helicopter crashed into a busy pub in Glasgow city centre.

High Court sentence Lebanese Man to life imprisonment for Terror charges

An Abuja Federal High Court has sentenced a Lebanese Businessman in Nigeria to life imprisonment for being in possession of prohibited fire arms.

The accused was arrested with two other Lebanese nationals Mustapha Fawaz, Abdallah Thahini in May after the discovery of an arms cache in a residence in the northern Nigerian city of Kano.

While the other two were released, The court, however, sentenced the third accused person, Talal Ahmad Roda, to life imprisonment having been found guilty of conspiracy.

Federal High Court Judge Adeniyi Adetokunbo Ademola said Hezbollah "is not an international terrorist organisation in Nigeria" and therefore membership is not criminal.

All three men were also acquitted of money laundering charges.

But Roda was found guilty of conspiracy to import weapons into the country and sentenced to life im…

Khloe Kardashian Could Be O.J. Simpson's Daughter, Claims His Manager

The old rumor that O.J. Simpson is Khloe Kardashian's biological father has reared its ugly head again, as the former professional football player's manager, Norman Pardo, has come forward, effectively telling In Touch, it's possible.
"It’s all going to come out sooner or later. Khloé could be O.J.’s kid," Pardo told the magazine, though it should be noted he said could be -- not is -- his daughter. Pardo says that whenever he brings up the subject to Simpson, who is currently serving a 9- to 33-year sentence in a Nevada prison for kidnapping and armed robbery, he just giggles.
Simpson, who famously was acquitted of the murders of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, has never denied the rumor that he and Kris Jenner had an affair, wherein she became pregnant with Khloe. Before the 1994 murders, Jenner and Robert Kardashian were very close with Simpson and his wife, whom Jenner said she considered one of her best friends.
“They all took…

Callous- Go & Die! Governor Adams Oshiomhole Said to a Poor Widow (PHOTOS & VIDEO)

This can best be described as the most shocking remark ever made by a State Governor to a poor woman. The heart of a man who can say such things, especially in front of a huge crowd and cameras is desperately wicked.

This video shows Governor Adams Oshiomhole ostensibly leading officials of the state to sanitize the city of Benin, the Edo State capital. In the course of his tour of duty, he came across a widow roadside hawker.
The poor widow knelt before the imperial governor, a former labour leader, begging for her little means of livelihood to be saved. She pleaded that she’s a widow.

But her pleas fell on the governor’s deaf ear. In what could be regarded as the most unkind cut of all, the governor said the widowed woman should “go and die”!
Afterwards he stood for some seconds looking indifferently on how the officials took the women’s belongings away, and he left the scene of the drama.

The huge crowd which witnessed all these was too shocked to say, or to do anything…

Nahinmu Nicholas had stormed out of the Ford Focus with his suitcases, saying he was going to hitch-hike to Heathrow, but was knocked down by a lorry in the morning darkness.

His wife had pulled over on what they both thought was the hard shoulder of the M25, not realising that it was a live lane because of roadworks. A coroner was told that lorry driver Martin Hook was unable to avoid Mr Nicholas as he suddenly caught sight of him.

(File picture) An inquest has heard Nahinmu Nicholas died after his wife pulled over on what they both thought was the hard shoulder on the M25. He was then hit by a lorry.
His 13-tonne bread lorry also struck the couple’s car in the accident just six minutes after they had stopped on the clockwise carriageway of the M25 at junction…

Sharia police smash 240,000 beer bottles in Kano

Police enforcing Islamic law in Kano State on Wednesday destroyed some 240,000 bottles of beer,  the latest move in a wider crackdown on behaviour deemed “immoral” in the area. The bottles had been confiscated from trucks coming into the city in recent weeks, said officials from the Hisbah, the patrol team which enforces the strict Islamic law, known as Sharia. AFP reports that Sharia enforcers called Hisbah destroyed over 240,000 bottles of beer along with over 8,000 litres of local brew called burukutu. Kano’s Hisbah chief, Aminu Daurawa, said at the bottle-breaking ceremony, he had “the ardent hope this will bring an end to the consumption of such prohibited substances.” A large bulldozer smashed the bottles to shouts of  “Allahu Ahkbar” (God is great) from supporters outside the Hisbah headquarters in Kano. Angola Denies Banning Islam

The Angola government on Tuesday debunk claims that it had banned Islam and close mosques in the country, after speculation that sparked outrage among Muslims worldwide.

"There is no war in Angola against Islam or any other religion," said Manuel Fernando, director of the National Institute for Religious Affairs, part of the ministry of culture.

"There is no official position that targets the destruction or closure of places of worship, whichever they are," Fernando told Agence France Presse.

Reports that Angola, a traditionally devout Catholic nation, would crack down on Muslims had drawn condemnation from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and others.

In Egypt, mufti Shawqi Allam said such a move would be "a provocation not only to Angolan Muslims but to more than 1.5 billion Muslims all over the world".

The oil-rich southern African nation has a population of about 18 million people, several hundred thousand of whom are Muslim.
