Image
Years after their separation, former Nollywood couple Saidi and Fathia Balogun are at war again. This is not the first time the duo will engage in legal battle, few years ago Saidi Balogun vows to force Fathia to stop using his last name. "She is my ex. As for my name that she is still answering, the deed will be done soon. The Nigerian law says that after three or four years, you can do something about it. If somebody wants to keep my name, what of the new person coming in? This has nothing to do with grudges." –said Saheed Balogun in an interview In 2012, his estranged wife Fathia Balogun also said this in an interview: "I laugh, my name is Fathia Balogun and it's going to remain Balogun; nobody can ever change that and nobody can stop me from answering that name." An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday remanded a suspected rapist, Solomon Adetunji, 30, in prison custody over alleged rape of a nine-year-old girl. Police prosecutor, Emmanuel David, told the court that the accused committed the offence on November 14, 2013 at about 3p.m. in Ifaki-Ekiti of Ido-Osi Local Government Area. He alleged that the accused had on the fateful day raped the minor and this led to her being hospitalised. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the offence contravened Section 31(2) of the Child Rights Act, Laws of Ekiti State, 2007. The prosecutor added that he had sent the case file to the Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution for legal advice. The plea of the accused was not taken due to the nature of the offence. However, the defence counsel, Mr. Chris Omokhafe, prayed the court to grant bail to his client as the two parties were trying to settle the matter amicably. The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Simeon Ojo, expressed concern at the increasing

Image
When news of him fathering a child hit the airwaves, everyone waited for Ice Prince to either accept or deny it. And, he denied it. Then much more later, we started seeing him posing with his kid, and telling whoever cared to listen that he's actually a daddy. He recently granted an interview with Showbiz Plus where Ice explains why he had to deny paternity of his son. According to him, he wasn't sure as at the time the news hit the air and had to make findings to be sure the pregnancy was truly his. Now, he's sure and has accepted his son. "It was complicated back then, I didn’t really know what was happening and I wasn’t sure of certain things. So the best I had to do then was deny it and sort out things first. Now I know he is my child and I have done everything as a father ever since. But Ice isn't dating his baby mama, Bimbo Babatunde and we're not sure he'll marry her either. According to him, although he still communicates

Khloe Kardashian Could Be O.J. Simpson's Daughter, Claims His Manager

Image
The old rumor that O.J. Simpson is Khloe Kardashian's biological father has reared its ugly head again, as the former professional football player's manager, Norman Pardo, has come forward, effectively telling In Touch, it's possible . "It’s all going to come out sooner or later. Khloé could be O.J.’s kid," Pardo told the magazine , though it should be noted he said could be -- not is -- his daughter. Pardo says that whenever he brings up the subject to Simpson, who is currently serving a 9- to 33-year sentence in a Nevada prison for kidnapping and armed robbery, he just giggles. Simpson, who famously was acquitted of the murders of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, has never denied the rumor that he and Kris Jenner had an affair, wherein she became pregnant with Khloe. Before the 1994 murders, Jenner and Robert Kardashian were very close with Simpson and his wife , whom Jenner said she considered one of her best friends . “They a

Callous- Go & Die! Governor Adams Oshiomhole Said to a Poor Widow (PHOTOS & VIDEO)

Image
This can best be described as the most shocking remark ever made by a State Governor to a poor woman. The heart of a man who can say such things, especially in front of a huge crowd and cameras is desperately wicked. This video shows Governor Adams Oshiomhole ostensibly leading officials of the state to sanitize the city of Benin, the Edo State capital. In the course of his tour of duty, he came across a widow roadside hawker. The poor widow knelt before the imperial governor , a former labour leader, begging for her little means of livelihood to be saved. She pleaded that she’s a widow. But her pleas fell on the governor’s deaf ear. In what could be regarded as the most unkind cut of all, the governor said the widowed woman should “ go and die ”! Afterwards he stood for some seconds looking indifferently on how the officials took the women’s belongings away, and he left the scene of the drama. The huge crowd which witnessed all these was too shocked to say, or to do

Angola Denies Banning Islam

Image
The Angola government on Tuesday debunk claims that it had banned Islam and close mosques in the country, after speculation that sparked outrage among Muslims worldwide. "There is no war in Angola against Islam or any other religion," said Manuel Fernando, director of the National Institute for Religious Affairs, part of the ministry of culture. "There is no official position that targets the destruction or closure of places of worship, whichever they are," Fernando told Agence France Presse. Reports that Angola, a traditionally devout Catholic nation, would crack down on Muslims had drawn condemnation from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and others. In Egypt, mufti Shawqi Allam said such a move would be "a provocation not only to Angolan Muslims but to more than 1.5 billion Muslims all over the world". The oil-rich southern African nation has a population of about 18 million people, several hundred thousand of whom are Muslim. Religious organisa

Sharia court sentence man to death by stoning in Bauchi

Upper Sharia court in Bauchi has sentenced a 30-year-old man, Umar Mohammed Kandahar to death by stoning, for impregnating his younger sister.   The court records, made available to journalists on Wednesday in Bauchi , showed that Umar was arraigned before Upper Sharia Court Unguwar Jaki, by the Bauchi State Shari’ah Commission, where he was accused of impregnating his younger  sister from the same father.
