A sectional group of  the Turkish armed Forces officially declared a take over and martial law in a bid to restore democracy in the Country. Three bombs were thrown outside the Parliament building in Ankara as reported by the Parliament. However, President  Erdogan in a phone conversation  to broadcaster CNN Turk on Friday said he remained the president of the country and the head of the army and called for people to take to the streets against the coup. There has been reports of gunfire, explosions in major cities, and police deaths. "We will overcome this," Erdogan said, speaking on a video call to a mobile phone held up to the camera by a presenter. He called on his followers to take to the streets to defend his government and said the coup plotters would pay a heavy price. The new national executive committee of a group within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), APC V Volunteer (V) has been inaugurated in Lagos. At the inauguration of the new management team, the group pledged their continuous support to the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode and the state chairman of the party, Otunba Henry Ajomale. The oath of office was administered on them by Mr. Okere Onyekachi Anthony who is the Assistant Legal Adviser of APC in Lagos State. The Naira  on Monday  weakened slightly against the dollar at the parallel market, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports. The Nigerian currency shed 1 point to trade at N353 by midday, from N352 it traded  on Friday . However, the Naira hedged against the Pound Sterling and the Euro as it traded for N460 and N383, from N465 and N385 it traded respectively  on Friday . At the interbank window, however, the currency closed on a positive note as it exchanged at N282.6 to a dollar. Traders at the market said that activities at the market were slow because of the prolonged public holiday in the previous week. Meanwhile, some financial experts have called on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to open a small window of transaction for Bureau de Change (BDC) operators in the new forex regime. EFCC sources told BLACKFACE that the sum forms part of the resources used in prosecuting Governor Fayose’s electoral victory during the 2014 governorship election in Ekiti State.
