Policeman Orders To Pay N10 Million For Defiling 2-Yr-Old Girl

An High Court Judge in Nasarawa has ordered the Inspector General of Police and one of its officer, Corporal Anthony Onoja who defiled a 2 year old baby, Chinwendu Obi Onwudiwe to pay her the sum of N10 million for damages.
Justice A. Asmau in her judgment said she was convinced beyond reasonable doubt that the defendants (IGP and Corporal Onoja) trespassed on the baby’s fundamental rights.
Mrs Ngozi Obi Onwudiwe through her lawyer, Barrister Esther Uzoma who is also the National co-ordinator, Proactive Gender Initiative, an Abuja based NGO,had in a motion on notice dated 6th November, 2013 and filed same day prayed the court for four declarations and three orders. [Thisday]
