The first lady of the United States of America, Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama on
January 17, 204 turned 50.
Michelle, who many says holds the real reign of power celebrated her birthday at the White House with just 60 or so guests
who have assembled to push one of her leading causes: getting more underprivileged children into university.
On Friday, as she turns 50, Mrs Obama says she has “never felt more confident in myself, more clear on who I am as a woman”. But those who know her say that wasn’t always the case – at least not when it came to squaring her own personal drive and self-belief with the strangely antiquated role of First Lady. 
A big lesson to be learn by her Nigerian counter-part, Mrs Pateince Jonathan who i know will not hestitate to celebrate it in an elaborate manner with state funds.
