Watch the First-Ever YouTube Music Awards Here

Youtube_previewThe YouTube Music Awards - a new ceremony for the Internet, influenced by the Internet and aired on the Internet - begins at 6 p.m. ET. on Sunday, Nov. 3.

Lady Gaga, Eminem, Arcade Fire, Avicii, CDZA, Lindsey Stirling, M.I.A., Tyler the Creator and Walk off the Earth will perform during the hour-and-a-half event.

Show director Spike Jonze told Mashable that live music videos will be created.

Nominees Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Fifth Harmony, Girls' Generation and Epic Rap Battles of History will also make appearances throughout the night.

While the main show starts at 6 p.m. ET, a pre-show will start airing at 5 p.m. ET..

Unlike other awards shows, the YTMA has only six categories, some of which are unique to the event, such as the Response of the Year category, which recognizes the best covers, remixes and parodies.

YouTube chose its nominees based on musicians' YouTube stats, including video views, Likes, comments and channel subscriptions.

The winners will be decided by share counts for each artist's nomination video on Facebook, Google and Twitter.

Musician Reggie Watts and actor Jason Schwartzman will host the show, and YouTube is airing pre-taped and live performances from New York, London, Moscow, Seoul and Rio de Janeiro prior to the show.
