People magazine crowned Adam Levine its Sexiest Man Alive last night, following in the footsteps of
Channing Tatum,
Bradley Cooper and
Ryan Reynolds.
But was he the right choice? Here are a few other hunks who could have
won the honor this year. Click through and make your opinion heard.
Chris Hemsworth
The star of "Thor: The Dark World" is the complete package: great looks,
a body he worked unbelievably hard for and a white-hot career. But perhaps the best part about the 30-year-old actor is
how much he loves his expectant wife, Elsa Pataky,
37, and their 18-month-old daughter, India Rose. "It makes it harder
and harder to leave and go to work," he told People magazine of being a
dad. "I enjoy being at home a lot more than I ever have. … She's the
best."
Luke Bryan
Not only is Bryan one of the most dreamy singers in Nashville today, but
he's sensitive too. After enduring two family tragedies, he spoke out
in an effort to help others. "If me telling my story moves people down a
positive path of hope and getting up out of the bed and getting back
going, then, you know, it's certainly worth telling," he said.
Idris Elba
That face. That accent. That talent. Elba, who rose to fame as Stringer
Bell in "The Wire," was suggested in the comments section as Sexiest Man
Alive. Don't worry -- you'll see more of him going forward. The Brit,
who can currently be seen in "Thor: The Dark World" with Hemsworth, is
also starring in "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom," which is due out soon.
Brad Pitt
Ah, Brad Pitt -- what's not to love? He's a family man, a supportive
partner -- and one hot actor. As a two-time winner of the award, why not
make it a threepeat?
George Clooney
Or, why not go with Pitt's best friend, Clooney, who also won the award
twice? Not only is this Oscar winner funny, talented and friendly, but
he loves the title. Why not give it to a seasoned vet?
Ryan Gosling
For his part, Clooney had been rooting for Gosling back in 2011. "He
really wants it. He's been saying... the whole time we were on the set
of 'Ides,' he was like, 'How did you pull that off?'"
he said."So
I called up Brad Pitt and we worked with him for weeks on the walk...
we told him how to train... everything." Readers everywhere agree. One
year, picketers protested Sexiest Man Alive because Gosling
wasn't the winner.
Matthew Bomer
He showed off his body in last year's "Magic Mike," and Bomer perenially
charms audiences with his show, "White Collar." In fact, so many women
love Bomer that they campaigned for him to win the lead in the "50
Shades of Grey" movie. So, is Sexiest Man Alive next?
