Senate Confirms 8 For Ambassadorial Positions
The
Senate yesterday confirmed eight persons as career and non-career
ambassadors following the screening of the nominees by the upper
house.
The appointees are O.F. Muoh( Imo), T.J Chinwuba- Akabogu( Anambra), Adamu Emozozo (Edo) A. Echi ( Benue) G.M. Quist- Adebiyi, M Dauda (Borno) Hakeem O. Sulaiman (Ogun), S.U. Ahmed(Gombe) and Dr Bolere Ketubu( Bayelsa) as the only non-career appointee.
In a related development, President Goodluck Jonathan has written to the senate requesting for the confirmation of the appointment of S.U. Ahmed from Gombe State as non-career ambassador. The president also sorts the confirmations of members of the Federal Civil Service Commission and Hon justice Ibrahim M. Bukar as chief judge of the FCT.
The confirmation of the ambassadorial nominees followed the recommendation of the Senator Mathew Nwagwu led committee on foreign affairs.
